First results of the investigation by the DGCCRF on prices

The survey of the Directorate-General for Competition and Consumer Commission (DGCCRF) confirms an increase in prices in the food, ranging from 11.5 to 18.2%, depending on the brand. This increase is, however, lower than that measured by the National Institute for Consumer Affairs (INC). Christine Lagarde, Minister of Économe, yesterday announced the holding of a round table between suppliers, distributors and consumers to "prepare all the proposals." The investigation in the first place demonstrates that the prices collected by INC exclusively on the websites of the brands are higher than the prices in supermarkets, all brands combined, "says the minister. In addition, the survey points out that about 20 products tested, the difference between teaching the cheapest and the most expensive is often important in the order of 20%.
