A rise in new car sales in France

he french manufacturers are rubbing their hands.

The figures published Monday by the Committee of french automobile manufacturers (CCFA) confirm the healthy state of the automobile. Sales of new passenger cars in France rose by 11.1% over the year in raw data, to 175,182 registrations.

A number of working days compared, the increase was 5.8%.

It is a pleasant surprise after the decline of 5.5% recorded in January and a boom of over 20% in December, after the adoption of eco-pellet early January.

The french manufacturers are doing well. The group PSA Peugeot Citroen saw its sales jumped by 12.5% to 58,761 units. Those Renault climbed 20.8% to 42,720 units, following a decline of 3.1% in January. The brand Renault wins 16.7% to 38,671 units while Dacia rose by 83% to 4,049 vehicles.

Overall, the market share of French brands increased in February to 55.6%, up from 54.2% a year earlier. Sales of French cars were up 14.1% to 97,434 registrations, compared with an increase of 7.6% in sales of foreign car sales (77,748 registrations).
