The real price increase in hyper
The government data revealed this morning by Le Parisien does not take the measure of price trends. Nouvelobs.com publishes a comparative table.
AWARD this morning daily Le Parisien the first to the study of the Directorate General of the consumption of competition and the Prevention of Fraud (DGCCRF), the Minister for Economic Affairs, Christine Lagarde, sought to respond to investigation of 60 million consumers who caused quite a stir last week. After raising prices on the websites of major retailers in November and January, the consumer magazine denounced increases in double digits!
More comprehensive checks by the DGCCRF in 80 stores covering 20 products have been indicted by 60 million consumers. Conclusion: prices on the websites of the distributors are actually higher than those in stores. Duly noted. But government data, probably incomplete, does not allow time to take the measure of price trends for three months. A peak!
A movement is real
To answer this question, the Nouvel Observateur had therefore obtained from a large area representative (6,700 m2) benefiting from the commercial terms of a powerful central purchasing, real prices of these famous products (our table). Result? Hay sterile controversy. The upward movement highlighted by 60 million consumers is a real one. But it does not affect all families of products. In the midst of escalating: all foods from cereals (rice, pasta, crackers, biscuits…), but also milk and its by-products (yogurt, cheese…) But - contrary to the assertions of 60 million consumers times on the fly by Nicolas Sarkozy, ham remains wise.
